Back from the archives in a limited release. The Stratton Bowl’s twisted glass stem is one of the most technically demanding things we make, and one of the most striking things on any table.
The twist in the stem isn’t decorative in the ordinary sense. It’s formed by hand while the glass is still hot, requiring the glassblower to keep the pattern uniform and straight while simultaneously building the foot and opening the rim. Three distinct techniques, all happening in sequence, each one demanding its own level of mastery. Light refracts through the twisted stem in a way a plain stem never could. The result is a bowl that earns its place at the table or on the mantel and tends to stop people in their tracks. A limited release, revived from our archives for those who collect with intention.
